Day 1- The Fit Test

The first DVD of the Insanity workout series is called The Fit Test and it is intended to act as a benchmark as you continue on throughout the series. During the 60 days of Insanity you are required to take TFT every two weeks to gauge your progression. Since Insanity is mainly plyometrics and cardio interspersed with yoga, TFT is essentially a primer for the exercises which you will be performing during the series.
The TV commercial states that many people who considered themselves in shape could barely pass TFT during trial runs of the program. This is no joke. I consider myself to be in decent shape, I exercise daily and have already completed other Beach Body programs including P90X, Tony Horton’s 10 minute trainer, and Hip Hop Abs. Nothing quite compares to Insanity.
I don’t intend to go into every workout in detail, that would be boring. This blog is more about recording my (our) progress in the event that one of us dies during this endeavor.

In a nutshell:

This is only TFT and it is crazy. Non-stop movement, energy at the highest level and I now have pains in places that I thought were long since dead. Anna felt that she came in on the lower part of TFT while I felt that I came in somewhere in the middle.

We watched the DVD for tomorrow and winced in pain putting the DVD into the player.
