Hi’iaka is Pele’s youngest sister and also the Goddess of Lightning. Not as hot headed as her older sister, she is still one akua that you don’t want trifle with.

Really, I’m not dead

A month to the day of my last post. Jeez, I must be slippin’. The truth is that I’ve been busy working and haven’t had the time to post anything of relevance (not that I do that anyway). This weekend Anna is attending a photography workshop in Hilo and we will be staying the weekend there. It will finally allow me the chance to interview and video tape my grandmother. I’ve been wanting to ask her about my family’s past and what it was like for her growing up in the islands. I my do something with the video, perhaps a short movie or something, depending on how much ground we cover. She has told me that as long as I bring enough pie (her favorite is custard) that she will have no problems dishing in the dirt about the past. Not that she would need any motivation at all to talk, talk, talk. Did I mention her side of the family is Portuguese?
At any rate, I’m sure that I will have something to say about it afterward.

As for the lack of recent posts all that I have to say is that beware When Life Attacks!
Seriously, I have been working like a madman on Design of the Snow Goddess and am half way through the first draft. Also car troubles have taken up my time since I do all my own repair work (I would rather work on a motorcycle any day). I will post something of near irrelevance in the upcoming days for the one or two of you who mistakenly stumble into this spiders web of narcissism.

It’s official, I am now recovered! Having a stomach flu or food poisoning, or whatever it was that I had is a good way to lose a few extra pounds, though I wouldn’t recommend it. Now I can eat real food and not mashed yams and carrots like a baby. Maybe I can even have a beer tonight!

Xisle will be moving

Yes, that’s right, my battle with the termites has finally ended! I will be moving to the building next door which has a parking lot, bathroom and more space than I know what to do with. Hopefully this will be painless.
